Liz is able to generate heat from her body, hot enough to start a fire. With an uncontrolled blast, Liz was able to take down an entire neighborhood, essentially denoting like a bomb. She usually channels it through her arms, and has precision to even keep it in one finger.
She is unharmed by all fire, even if she was not the original creator. She can use the fire like a protective cocoon. As of late, Liz has started to refer to the volatile parts of the fire as another living creature. Even when she believes she is in control, she often goes too far.

Besides being raised Catholic, Liz had a "normal childhood." She was the oldest of two children.
When Liz turns 10, she starts to notice scorch marks on her bedding. Her parents check for electric issues. Liz starts to hide the fires, she had no idea what the source was, except maybe her. She dreamed of fire, and being raised Catholic, thought she was being punished. The sparks grew.
The following year at a classmate's birthday, Liz was assaulted by a boy. Her anger manifested in the form of an explosion from within. The whole city block was destroyed, including Liz's parents, brother, dog, and her home. BPRD intervenes and takes Liz into their custody.
She is put into solitary confinement while they study her. They only contact she gets is when she is brought her meals by a suited up intern. They treat her with fear and do not speak to her. Liz has nightmares and begins to stay awake.
Hellboy, the one and only (everyone cheers) learns of Liz's treatment. Being 11 years old is bad enough, and Hellboy brings Liz a flower, and candy, and visits her in her cell. Eventually her gets her moved out of the cell and into an actual room.
Liz and Hellboy grow close, and he shows her classic movies with Chaplin and MST3k. She begins to feel safe and considers him a friend. Liz finds a family in Hellboy, and Abe, another ward of the Bureau who received similar treatment. Hellboy's "father" and founder of the BPRD, Dr. Bruttenholm also becomes close with Liz.
She becomes a field agent at 20, training with firearms and hand to hand combat. She's told to only use her powers in dangerous situations or when Hellboy is with her (fire-resistant bff!)
The Gang Meets Rasputin. Liz destroys Cavendish Hall. Look it up, dummy! Liz quits, but she quits the Bureau about 3 times.
More like 13 times. She always loses control, quits, Hellboy brings her back. Or Abe. Or in the case of Roger: a homunculus who she accidentally "reactivates" with her fire powers. It takes her powers away, and she ends up in a coma.
Without her powers, Liz is half a person, or the fire had some sort of symbiotic bond with her. She is kept in a cell again, welcome back. Hellboy finds that homunculus (now named Roger) and brings him back to the Bureau. Liz actually dies, Roger arrives just in time to pass her fire back. Liz and Roger become incredibly close friends.
Liz quit the last time in order to train with her powers in a monastery. She becomes proficient with her powers, until there's some monk vs ancient race bullshit like always. Liz communicates through a magic book for Abe to come help her, and with Roger's help, she's brought back.
Liz has a dream about Roger dying, and when she awakes, he's already dead. She's moved into Roger's room to sleep and hasn't left longer than to eat or use the toilet.

Wears boots, even with dresses. They make her feel safe. That and she stepped on a nail as a kid and it was one of her worst memories.
Loves cats, doesn’t like dogs. Has lied and said she's allergic a few times.
Likes cold sheets but also hot baths.
Adores old black and white movies. Loves Jimmy Stewart. Loves old cartoons. A lot of her tastes in movies came from watching stuff with Hellboy as a kid.
Wants desperately to be normal; but needs the fire, loves the fire. The sight and smell, the sound of crackling.
Is often sarcastic and matter of fact. She's quite shielded. Used to people being scared of her. She's scared of herself for the both of us, baby.
Likes to take pictures. She likes the idea of freezing something in time. However, has ended up destroying a lot of her albums. This doesn't stop her.
She worries about those around her more than she worries about taking care of herself. Will make you a sandwich before making herself one.
Wears rubber bands on her wrists as aversion therapy. Has stopped obsessive thoughts and anxiety with it, but it's made her twitchy.
Doesn’t like the term “firestarter.” It sounds as if it's on purpose.

Does not like large groups of people, crowds do stupid things.
Hates when someone mistakes her for someone else, Would rather blend in and appear anonymous. This is just paranoia, but she does wear her hood up and sunglasses whenever possible.
